Practice, Practice, Practice!
A half-hour is not a lot a time. I can give you all the guidance and knowledge you need, but it is up to you to go home and work on the things we cover in our lessons. The bottom line is, you won’t be successful if you aren’t doing your part at home. For beginners, you should be getting in at least one hour of practice time a week. (This does not include our lesson time.) This time can and should be split up to fit your schedule. I strongly recommend that you make a weekly practice schedule and stick to it. Set aside two or three times a week that you are going to dedicate to practicing guitar. 20 or 30 minutes at a time is all you need as long you are consistent. Of course if you want to practice more, then knock yourself out!
